Are You New?
Wondering if you should show up on Sunday? Not sure what to expect? Newcomers and visitors are always welcome at our church.
If you have any questions, please contact us. A staff member or pastor would be happy to speak with you. If you'd like more information about what we believe, see "Our Beliefs." What happens on Sunday morning? On Sunday at 10AM, we gather as a community in our church's sanctuary. We sing some songs, hear some Bible verses read aloud, and have a teaching time and prayer. What's the "Service of Reconciliation"? We have a Service of Reconciliation as part of our service each Sunday. We use the Bible (and sometimes some other writings about the Bible) to focus on the central message of the Scriptures: God sent Jesus to save us and bring about the restoration of the world. What kind of songs do you sing? We sing between 5-10 songs every Sunday. Some of these are older hymns and some are more modern praise songs. Musicians and singers help lead us. We project the song lyrics onto a large screen at the front of the sanctuary. You don't have to be a "good" singer to sing along. We love everyone's voices, even if they're a little off-key. However, you are also welcome to simply listen to the music. Is there a dress code? Nope. Some people like to dress up a little bit, and others show up in jeans and tee shirt. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. We do, however, encourage our members and visitors to refrain from wearing fragrance for those with sensitivities. Should I bring my kids? Kids and youth are welcome in our church. We provide nursery for babies and offer a children's worship time (like Sunday School) for those ages 3 through grade 5. However, children are also welcome to stay with their parents for the duration of the service. We also have programs during the week for kids of all ages. Do I have to bring money? No. During the service, we will have a freewill offering to take donations for our church budget and for another charity (check out some of the local and international organizations we support here). However, there is never any obligation to give. Is the church wheelchair accessible? Are service dogs allowed? Yes and yes! What happens after the church service? We gather in our social hall for some coffee and conversation. This is an informal social time; you are welcome to stay for a while or head home. |
